A fight at Beverly Hills early Sunday left three men charged with affray, and one of them with assaulting a female police officer.
Police were driving on King Georges Road at 12.05am Sunday when they came across a group of people trying to break up a fight between three men.
Two police officers stopped their car and tried to stop the altercation.
They allege a man, 38, grabbed a female sergeant by the hair and assaulted her.
More police arrived and, after further scuffles, police arrested three brothers and took them to Campsie Police Station.
A man, 38, was charged with affray, assaulting police occasioning actual bodily harm, resisting arrest and using offensive language.
Two other men, 44 and 33 were charged with affray and hindering police.
The first two men were refused bail and all three are due to appear in Burwood Local Court today.
The police sergeant was taken to Canterbury Hospital, suffering from concussion, and has since been released.
