ROCKDALE residents can meet their state election candidates at a forum on Wednesday March 4.
Rockdale Second Ward Progress Association and Rockdale Residents Unite organised the meeting.
All candidates for the seat of Rockdale have been invited: John Flowers, sitting Liberal MP; Steve Kamper, Labor; Rockdale councillor Michael Nagi, independent; and Madeleina Snowdon, Greens.
Second Ward Progress Association president Bernie Sharah said each candidate would be allowed 10 minutes to present his or her platform and policies.
"Each candidate will also be asked to sign the Better Planning Network Charter," Mr Sharah said.
"The audience will be invited to ask questions of the candidates at the end of their presentations."
The charter was prepared last August by several community organisations in consultation with government organisations and the Better Planning Network.
Its vision describes a planning system that "thinks of both today and tomorrow; is built on fairness, equity and the concept of ecologically sustainable development; guides quality development to the right places; ensures poorly designed developments and those in the wrong place don't get built; and protects the things that matter — from open spaces, bushland and productive agricultural land to much-loved historic town centres and buildings".
The public forum starts 7pm at Arncliffe Community Centre, corner Barden and Stanley Streets, Arncliffe; tea, coffee will be served.
What sort of questions would you ask the candidate?
