A DRILLING rig has been testing ground conditions for possible tunnelling on the long-standing F6 road reservation at Brighton-Le-Sands.
The WestConnex Delivery Authority said geotechnical investigations were being carried out on the planned SouthConnex extension from Tempe to Kogarah.
"Investigations are not necessarily carried out along an exact alignment, as the information is used to produce a geological profile of the area which may influence the design tenders to WestConnex," a spokeswoman said.
She said drilling was happening at more than 100 sites along the entire WestConnex corridor and there was no correlation to potential ventilation outlet sites.
