Car park a bad idea
The main picture shows Gymea car park with plenty of trees.
These are in clear view, including from the railway. Trees soak up noxious exhaust.
The proposal is for another car park on top, resulting in a treeless concrete ramped structure.
All multi-level car parks at railway stations (Sutherland and Kogarah) are full during week days with parking by kerbs extending for a kilometre.
More elevated spaces are not a solution.
The adjacent smaller photo shows the rail corridor near Engadine.
Rail reserve green space is needed for rail maintenance access and infrastructure. More private vehicle parking is proposed here.
Proposals to use green space for all-day parking would sacrifice the quality of life. Shuttle buses are practical.
