St George Illawarra Dragons host Manly Sea Eagles in their 100th game to be played at WIN Stadium, Wollongong, on Saturday, at 7.30pm.
Dragons coach Paul McGregor has added George Rose to the squad, selecting 18 players, with one to be omitted.
Prop Rose missed last Saturday’s 22-20 win over Canberra because of the birth of his first child, a son.
McGregor played in the inaugural game for the St George Illawarra Dragons, at Wollongong in round five, 1999 against the North Sydney Bears. That was the first year of the joint-venture club in the NRL.
He was co-captain of the Dragons for the inaugural fixture at the venue against the Bears.
‘‘The entire team are excited to be able to return and play in front of our home supporters in Wollongong,” said McGregor.
“There have been some memorable matches played at WIN Stadium over the years and to have both captained the team for our inaugural game here and now serve as coach for this milestone is something special.
“The focus though is preparing for the Sea Eagles which is always a tough challenge but one that the entire playing group is looking forward to.”
