GWEN Cooper recently celebrated her 100th birthday at John Paul Village, Heathcote.
Gwen spent most of her life in Riverwood with her husband Charlie where they raised four children.
In 1974 the couple decided on a "sea change", and packed up the house for a move to the South Coast town of Callala Beach.
Gwen continued to live at Callala Beach long after her husband died.
She moved back to Sydney in more recent times to be closer to her family.
There are now seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
In her younger years she played vigoro and then tennis, golf and bowls.
Gwen now enjoys watching tennis and golf on television and lives comfortably at the retirement village.
