THREE high schools in St George are among 60 NSW secondary schools promised a major upgrade under the Coalition's electricity privatisation plan.
Blakehurst, Beverly Hills Girls and Kingsgrove North high schools were included in a $148 million secondary school building program released by Education Minister Adrian Piccoli.
No details about the proposed projects were given.
Mr Piccoli promoted the plan during a visit to Endeavour Sports High School at Caringbah, which is also attended by many students from St George.
"All children, no matter what school they attend, deserve a great education in a well-equipped school with up-to-date facilities," Mr Piccoli said in a statement.
"At Endeavour Sports High School the Baird government will improve the school's amenity and enhance the learning experience for students.
"We know that a school's appearance is important in how it is perceived by the community.
"This funding will go a long way to upgrading those schools that need it most."
