Sutherland Shire Netball Association’s winter competitions got under way on Saturday, March 21, at Belingarra Road netball courts, Miranda.
‘‘Sutherland Council re-surfaced four of our courts for the new season,’’ said association president Maria Bettini.
‘‘We thank the council for doing this in time for the competition.
Association State League representative teams have begun their 2015 Netball NSW competitions which are played each week at Netball Central, Sydney Olympic Park.
Sutherland is fielding No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 division teams in the state league.
The association’s Taylah Davies and Madeleine Hay, who play in the state league No.1 team, have been selected in the Australian under-21s team.
Australian Diamonds and NSW Swifts captain, Kimberlee Green, has been an association player.
The association has 562 teams, comprising 5400 registered players from 25 clubs.
