Council rentals
To flippantly announce that Hurstville Council charge more to rent facilities than it costs to send all councillors on a junket to a star-rated hotel in Terrigal is a ridiculous situation.
These premises are owned by all ratepayers and controlled by council and should be utilised to best serve the ratepayers.
I would have no doubt that when hired out to third parties, council charge a premium price, but that is no excuse for our councillors to travel up the coast to hold meetings that are called to discuss local issues.
All I can say is, "get fair dinkum" — it is a totally unacceptable situation.
