Matter of trust
Much has been said as to various governments breaking promises.
I have a letter from the Askin government saying they would sell me my Department of Housing home. They didn't.
I also have various letters from the Greiner government, including a housing loan approval to buy that same place. They demolished it.
Now I am trying to gain confirmation that a "not to be moved again" notation in my Department of Housing file will be honoured as they are currently selling and demolishing homes they own in our street. No one will give me an answer.
I am now of the opinion that a government promise to an individual can be broken with no consequence. It's only when they try breaking promises to the entire state or country that they come undone.
