TWO Sutherland Shire residents have made it into the 2015 Sydney Water graduate program from a field of 1600 candidates.
Kieran Lowe, 22, of Cronulla and Miljan Tepic, 23, of Lugarno are among 21 students who qualified.
Mr Lowe holds a bachelor of science degree with honours from the University of Wollongong.
He hopes to gain the training, skills, and experience which will allow him to start on the right road to his chosen career path.
He said he was proud to have secured a spot in such a meaningful field and hoped he could rise to the top of his profession.
Mr Tepic holds a bachelor of civil engineering degree from the University of Technology Sydney.
"I applied for a Sydney Water graduate position because I was inspired to contribute to the community through the delivery of a vital resource," he said.
"It's good to be working towards sustainability."
Sydney Water managing director Kevin Young said the program employed graduates in engineering, science, accounting and communications.
"Sydney Water's graduates will have three to four rotations during the three-year program, giving them experience in various areas within their field of expertise."
The manager of entry level programs at Sydney Water Bonnie McKay said that 84 per cent of past graduates had gone on to full-time positions with Sydney Water.
Applications for the 2016 program close tomorrow, Wednesday, April 15.
