PORT Hacking Ladies Golf Club celebrates its 50th anniversary with a big luncheon on April 22 at Woolooware Golf Club.
The luncheon is booked out for past and present women's golfers.
The club began when a handful of women — keen to play golf — approached the golf professional 50 years ago.
"We play Wednesday mornings before the men's rounds and there are 56 to 60 golfers playing each week," said past president and club function co-ordinator Kay Parris.
"We have 110 members and about 35 women on the waiting list."
Parris said many of the club members have been with the club 30, 40 or even 50 years. The oldest is 92.
"Many lifelong friendships have been made," Parris said.
