UPDATE: Cronulla forward Chris Heighington will miss three games after taking the early guilty plea on Tuesday, April 28, for his dangerous throw in last week's NRL defeat to Penrith.
Cronulla Sharks forward Chris Heighington has been charged with a grade three dangerous throw for a tackle on Panthers prop Jeremy Latimore on Sunday at Pepper Stadium, Penrith.
The tackle, in the 19th minute, resulted in a 393 point penalty for an early guilty plea and a 525 point penalty if Heighington challenges, meaning he will miss three matches if he accepts and five matches if a judiciary hearing rules him wrong.
Hooker Michael Ennis was put on report for the same tackle but the NRL deemed no charge.
Heighington and Sharks have until noon on Tuesday, April 28, to consider their options.
St George Illawarra Dragons winger Jason Nightingale, overlooked initially by New Zealand for the Test match against Australia on Friday, May 1, at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, is now in the squad.
Should Chris Heighington fight the judiciary charge?
