The Cronulla Sharks broke their two-game losing streak on Saturday night with a thrilling 23-22 golden point win over the Gold Coast.
Cronulla winger Valentine Holmes was the hero as the youngest player on the field stepped up to nail his field goal attempt one minute into extra time.
Both teams struggled in a scoreless opening 20 minutes before Titans forward Ryan James barged over from close range to break the deadlock.
Gold Coast winger David Mead then ran 90 metres to extend the lead despite question marks over a knock-on in the lead up.
A Titans penalty goal gave them a 14-0 lead before Cronulla finally posted points.
Holmes scored in the corner to reduce the deficit to 14-4 at half-time.
Another Titans penalty saw them out to a 12-point lead before Cronulla hit back with a try to Luke Lewis.
Aidan Sezer kicked his third penalty goal of the night for the Gold Coast before Holmes scored his second try.
Cronulla hit the lead for the first time in the 71st minute when Jack Bird crashed over but it didn't last long.
Anthony Don crossed for the Titans after a Sharks mistake from the kick-off but Sezer missed his first attempt at goal for the night to leave the score locked at 22-all.
Both teams failed to break the deadlock in regulation time, leaving Holmes with the chance to win the game with his 35 metre field goal.
