DOMESTIC violence, always confronting, is now a series of 13 plays — Rhymes with Silence.
Written by nine Australian writers and starring 26 actors with a dozen directors at the helm, each play connects to the one narrative through a common thread of design and theme, domestic violence.
Lynda Leavers of Caringbah, who plays Cathy in Good Men Do Bad Things, said that at 40, her dilemma was whether to have a midlife crisis or act.
"Problem solved, enrolled in a drama class. Loved it and the rest is history," Levers said.
"I have been in numerous plays, have done amazing courses and work in state schools creating in a program — Play Day — and love it."
Angela Gibson of Cronulla is Kate in Maybe Another Time.
Gibson, who began her theatrical training at the Phillip Street Theatre in Sydney and is an Arts Theatre Cronulla member, was in Crash Test Drama at Cronulla and was in a seven-week run as Izzy in the Arts Theatre Cronulla's production of Rabbit Hole.
Margaret Barnaby of Blakehurst is the play's director and Natalie Banach of Kirrawee is one of the writers.
