CRONULLA'S Space 44 Gallery will host a visit by New York artist Jason Woodside this month.
Woodside specialises in creating large-scale works to evoke positive energy and trigger nostalgia through colour combinations and vibrant patterns. His recent commissions and collaborations include adidas, Colette, Saatchi & Saatchi, Faberge and Free Arts NYC, and his large exterior works grace the walls of major cities including New York, Paris, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Woodside will be in Sutherland Shire to paint a mural on the outside of the Space 44 building on May 27.
He will also do live installations at the gallery with his original works and prints, and display boards that feature the new artwork he has created.
Aaron Girgis from Space 44 said it was an exciting collaboration that would appeal to a mass audience.
"A mutual friend in New York put us in contact because Jason wanted to do a gallery while he was here for an event that brings together international designers, artists and creative icons for presentations, workshops and parties," he said.
"When I went to New York this month we met for the first time and became friends. I'm sure there will be many more projects from Jason and other prolific artists coming through Space 44 and the shire after this show," he said.
Space 44 will curate a large art wall for Vivid Sydney, from May 22.
