Wanda Beach is Shearwater selling point, but not patrolled all-year-round

Re "More blocks go on sale" (Leader, May 14). The relevance to the patrolled Wanda beach in the story is misleading.

That is, the beach is not patrolled for 12 months of the year and it appears to be included as a selling feature yet misleading from a water safety perspective.

Wanda SLSC and council lifeguards patrol Wanda beach from October through to April — when conditions are suitable and flags erected.
