Head high and offshore since Friday - and still it continues; 4/5ft and perfect Autumn conditions grace our beaches today and for a few days to come hopefully.
I even rode my 7’6’ on Saturday at the Alley when it was 6-8ft and really crowded with 3 guys out. Of course now this has changed and there are 30 guys out there all day, everyday.
Swellnet predicts this swell to stay around shoulder height into the weekend to finally die off on Sunday, with the winds to keep on keeping on from the West.
Today's pics are from the Alley where it seems this is the ONLY bank on the beach. Of course this is wrong but this time of year isn’t conducive to looking around. It is utter chaos out here as well, woman, children and old guys that think they own the joint (hang on that could be me) it reminds me of California in the 80’s-awesome!

The world’s best surfers are converging on the idyllic setting of Tavarua and Namotu in the remote South Pacific to contest Stop No. 5 of the 2015 Samsung Galaxy WSL Championship Tour (CT), the Fiji Pro, from May 31 - June 19, 2015.
Held at the world-class reef passes of Cloudbreak and Restaurants, the Fiji Pro epitomizes the WSL mantra of “world’s best surfers, world’s best waves,” up first will be the WSL Top 17 contesting the Fiji Women’s Pro from May 31 to June 5.
Mahina Maeda (HAW), reigning WSL Women’s Junior Champion, has been allocated a wildcard into the Fiji Women’s Pro where the young Hawaiian will take on the world’s best female surfers and Dane Reynolds (USA), former World No. 4 and celebrated innovator of high-performance surfing, has been allocated the wildcard for the 2015 Fiji Pro. Reynolds will face three-time WSL Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) and Wiggolly Dantas (BRA) in Round 1 of competition.
Surely this is his last chance, his results haven’t been crash hot since 2010 and I don’t think he has got out of a heat!
Some of Australia’s most talented surfers will head to the most northern tip of NSW(Tweed coast) to battle it out in the NRMA NSW Open State Titles presented by HIF, which kicks off on Friday.
Over 100 surfers will compete in the prestigious three-day event, which will decide the male and female NRMA NSW Open Surfmasters Team for the 2015 Australian Surf Festival in Coffs Harbour in August.
In bad news for me I am also going to the Tweed coast this weekend -bummer!
Going the other way, Round 1 of the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles has been completed in small and clean conditions at Bells Beach on the opening day of the waiting period.
With some of the top Indigenous surfers from around the country gathering for the event, the level of surfing was impressive throughout all divisions.
Former Australian Pro Junior Champion Soli Bailey (Byron Bay, NSW) impressed in his Round 1 Heat, locking in the highest wave score of the day, a 9.17 ride.
“It was pretty slow this morning, but there was some fun ones out there when they came” said Bailey.
“Its pretty cold down here, but it should be a fun week I am looking forward to it.”
So am I Soli , so am I. Til next week, when its officially Winter and I can wear a steamer!
