WITH an extra day to spare, the June long weekend is a great opportunity to give your home a makeover.
Taking on some small projects could give your home a fresh new look.
A spokesman for White Knight Paints shares his tips for homeowners to tackle a few projects in your kitchen or bathroom.
Cupboard doors in high-traffic areas like kitchens, bathrooms and laundry areas can start to look pretty shabby over time.
"Rather than replacing them, you can easily repaint laminate cupboards using White Knight Laminate Paint designed to give a dated surfaces a 'like new' finish."
● Simply remove your cupboard doors and clean thoroughly to remove any grease, dirt or mould.
● Prime each surface with two coats of White Knight Tile and Laminate Primer and lightly sand the surface before painting.
● Apply two coats of the paint, sanding the surface between each coat and leave to dry for eight hours.
Bathrooms are often the most expensive and time intensive to overhaul.
"White Knight Tile Paintcan make your dingy tiles look brand new," the spokesman said.
"The best part? You can tint the tile paint to any Taubmans colour you'd like. As with all other painting projects, prepping is key."
● Start by cleaning your tiles to get rid of any dirt, soap scum and mould.
● Prime your tiles with two coats of White Knight Tile and Laminate Primer and lightly sand the surface before painting.
● Apply two coats of the paint, sanding the surface between each coat and leave to dry for eight hours.
"If you're not confident in taking on a full re-paint, consider refreshing your grout with the White Knight Grout Pen.
"It's as simple as using the pen to trace the grout lines around each tile remembering to work from the bottom up."
