St George Illawarra Dragons can return to the top of the NRL premiership table with victory in the round 13 clash against the Canterbury Bulldogs on Monday at ANZ Stadium.
The 4pm kick-off sees the Dragons on 18 points, second, after the Brisbane Broncos thumping of Manly in Brisbane on Friday night, saw the Queensland regain the outright lead.
The Broncos now have a 20 point buffer with two games to be played on Monday to complete the round 13.
The Bulldogs are 10th on 12 points and former Dragons winger Brett Morris could be a late inclusion at fullback to play against his former club for the first time.
Morris missed the first round clash between the Dragons and Bulldogs with a torn hamstring he suffered in the Good Friday clash against Souths at ANZ Stadium.
The Dragons thrashed the Bulldogs in the first encounter this season, 31-6 at ANZ Stadium.
Dragons second rower Joel Thompson, who missed the 42-6 win over Cronulla at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah, has a hamstring strain, and will have to pass a fitness test to play.
If Thompson is out, tough tackling Will Matthews will come into the starting team, he has been named on a five-man interchange bench.
In other news, the Dragons fans are awaiting a decision from winger Jason Nightingale about a new contract offer.
Veteran Ben Creagh last week signed a one year deal for 2016. The veteran skipper said he always wanted to remain a one club man.
Nightingale, 28, who has scored 85 tries for the Dragons, has been negotiating for several weeks about a two or three-year contract with club management.
A decision is expected soon and it is understood he may have to accept less than his current deal to finalise the negotiations.
Nightingale wants to remain a one club man as well.
The Renown United junior debuted in 2007.
On the historical front, since 1999, St George Illawarra and the Bulldogs have played 28 times with the Bulldogs holding a 17-11 advantage.
