Firefighters spent more than seven hours battling a blaze at the SITA Rockdale Resource Recovery Centre on Sunday, June 28.
Several fire crews were called to the Lindsay Street site at 1pm after smoke was seen.
Firefighters used a front loader to gain access to the fire at the rear of a building.
The Environmental Protection Agency monitored the extensive smoke and the subsequent water run-off.
Mild damage was done to the building but its contents were destroyed.
Foam was used to extinguish the fire at 8pm.
