SYDNEY Pet Rescue and Adoption has been re-homing dogs and cats since 2006 and is busier than ever.
As a no-kill organisation it places unwanted pets in homes with foster carers to save animals from being destroyed.
The not-for-profit organisation also runs an assisted re-homing program which helps people who can't keep their pets find them new owners.
Running costs are constantly escalating which is why the group will host a Christmas-in-July event to raise funds.
The dinner will take place on Saturday, July 25, at Bianco at Brighton-Le-Sands and tickets are $80 a person including a four-course vegetarian Italian meal.
The big ticket item at a live auction will be an oval-shaped 1.68 carat natural pink sapphire worth $3500.
The first prize in the raffle is two nights' accommodation at a Gerringong beach house worth $1000.
Donations of food, litter, bedding and transport carriers and cash are of course always welcome.
