KNOW someone worthy of attention? One nomination is all it takes to see that person become the next Australian of the Year.
The annual awards recognise worthy citizens in the states and territories in four categories: Australian of the Year, Senior Australian of the Year (65 years and over), Young Australian of the Year (16-30 years) and Australia's Local Hero.
Nominating someone is a great way to recognise the work they do for the community.
And this year the nomination process has been made even easier.
Fill in a short form at australianoftheyear.org.au, telling the committee who you are nominating and why, and giving their age and what state they are from.
All eligible nominees receive a certificate and, who knows, the person you admire could be receiving one of the nation's most prestigious awards on Australia Day.
