PROMOTER Geoff Trio is passionate about ensuring talented new musicians get a chance to perfom on stage.
As co-owner of Cronulla's Brass Monkey with Jad Nakhley, he will launch a curated new music night tomorrow night.
To be known as "the Monkey collective" the monthly showcase will allow up-and-comers and young people the chance to see how the live industry works, he said.
"This will give them stage time with proper production and in front of an audience in a proper venue," he said.
"For most of these people it will probably be the first time they have ventured onto a stage.
"If we see there's potential in these acts then they may get to support the legends like Ian Moss."
Mr Trio said he had been inudated with requests from performers for the monthly music night.
"We give one artist who has played a tiny bit the opportunity to do a headline, then there will be others who will be first-timers," he said.
The first night main act will be singer-songwriter Jorja Carroll, who Mr Trio described as "a good little talent".
Watching complete novices become more confident and better performers was a highlight, he said.
"The acts get paid and it is all about giving someone a foot up on the stage."
