Cronulla hooker Michael Ennis will challenge his grade one, careless high-tackle charge at the judiciary on Wednesday night, July 1.
Ennis was placed on report and subsequently charged for a tackle on Cowboy Matt Scott in the 69th minute of the match on Saturday night, June 27.
Ennis has decided to fight the charge after considering his options.
Should he have taken the early guilty plea, Ennis would have missed the Sharks game with the Sea Eagles on Sunday, July 5, and thrown into jeopardy a potential chance to play for NSW in the Origin decider should Robbie Farah be ruled out because of broken hand.
Sharks prop Matt Prior has taken the early guilty plea on a grade one dangerous contact with the head or neck charge but will not miss a game.
