St George Illawarra Dragons have ended the contract of Addin Fonua-Blake for breaches of his NRL obligations.
Fonua-Blake, 19, was involved in an incident on Sunday, January 18, and had been stood down from the club.
“There had been a detailed investigation by the club and the NRL integrity unit and a hearing before the board,” said Dragons chief executive Peter Doust.
“Addin’s actions breached clauses in his contract and after a board review, the decision was made to end his contract.
“This circumstance is unfortunate for Addin and the club.
‘‘He had been at our club for several years and was a player that our coaching group had targeted for NRL this season."
Fonua-Blake was charged with common assault in January after being reported to police for allegedly kicking his girlfriend at an Eastlakes home on Sunday, January 18. He was immediately stood down by the Dragons.
Mr Doust said the Dragons had offered education and welfare assistance to Fonua-Blake and would not comment any more on the matter.

The Dragons have signed Melbourne Storm centre Kurt Mann for the 2016-17 seasons.
The 22-year-old is a Queensland under-20s representative and played with Newcastle before signing with Storm and has played 21 games for them so far.
