AS GATEWAY Credit Union chief executive, the world of blogging was foreign to Paul Thomas.
But after reluctantly starting a corporate blog in 2008, the Dolls Point resident can't imagine his life without it.
"I was dragged kicking and screaming into blogging by my then head of marketing. She assured me it would be good for Gateway and for me," he said.
"I started blogging under pressure from others and never held any big hopes, but blogging quickly became a professional life-changing experience for me."
His weekly posts are a combination of economic commentary, leadership insight and hints.
"The golden rule of blogging is that you have to be authentic so I've tried to make my blog an online extension of my personality.
"I'm a bit of a joker who believes that work should be fun, so I try to inject some humour into everything I do."
Since he began he has written more than 300 posts and 168,299 words.
His blogs success has led him to publish a new book Bite Size Advice to be launched on July 9.
"The book draws on almost 40 years' experience of working in the financial services industry," he said,
"The result is an easy-to-read 'bite-size' combination of economic commentary, insights, opinions and financial hints."
