KOGARAH Historic Society will hold its next Monday At The Museum event at Carss Cottage Museum on July 27.
Guest speaker Judith Carrick will talk about the history of the Royal National Park.
Ms Carrick, who lives south of the park at Austinmer, realised there was no current history of the park, so she wrote one.
After six years of thorough research her book History of Royal National Park 1879-2013 was recently published.
It provides a fascinating and comprehensive account of the park's history, with more than 100 photographs.
A graduate of Wollongong University, Ms Carrick will talk about her exhaustive research, poring over historic and contemp-orary documents.
The book will be available for purchase on the day.
Mondays At The Museum is held five times a year at Carss Cottage Museum which is at the end of Carwar Avenue, Carss Park.
Morning tea at 10am is followed by the guest speaker.
Entry is $5 a person and bookings are appreciated as space is limited. Parking is available.
