THE new principal of Kingsgrove Public School has already powered ahead with one of her goals for the year — to make the playground greener.
Beverly D'Astoli's vision is to transform the school's outdoor area into a more interactive and engaging learning space.
Thanks to a $1000 grant from Hurstville Council, the school has established a vegetable garden and a new sensory garden for the junior pupils.
The projects were supported by Rockdale Council which supplied building material.
It was a timely launch in conjunction with National Tree Day on Sunday, which pupils marked by planting trees on school grounds.
