It is disappointing that only readers with internet access are provided with an address to contact Fairfax to express our appreciation and support to all journalists, the cartoonist, photographers and team producing what is without a doubt the premium local paper, our St George and Sutherland Shire Leader.
I am without internet access, however, wish to have my view noted.
Personally, I give The Leader political reporting my number one spot.
The Leader has led the way in informing us of the closure of the tax office at Hurstville, the loss of the Medicare office at Roselands, the upgrade of St George Hospital, the closure of Mortdale fire station and heroic acts of paramedics, police, and fire and rescue personnel.
We are informed of improvements in education and the reductions at TAFE.
The Leader gives a complete overview of our neighbourhood, from the trades index and community activities, to insights into the lives of our ordinary and extra ordinary citizens who combine to make St George and Sutherland Shire the great place it is.
There is an old saying: ‘‘When you’re on to a good thing, stick to it’’.
We need to be reassured those working tirelessly to make the St George and Sutherland Shire Leader the great read it is will continue to proudly contribute their stories, pictures, feature cartoon, sports reports and all other special features of the Leader into the future.
We love to hold the paper, turn the pages and simply relax and read for awhile. Three meals a day, two Leaders a week. That’s life.
Elaine Cameron, Peakhurst.
