THE Sylvanvale Foundation's annual Gala Dinner is an opportunity for the community to celebrate and support a great cause.
The gala is on Friday, August 21, 6.30pm-midnight at Doltone House in Sylvania Waters.
Cathy Quinn, the foundation's general manager of customer and community relations, said the evening would bring more than 300 people together to celebrate the achievements and aspirations of people with a disability.
"This year's dinner will feature an art exhibition by our Art with Heart program participants and the launch of Your Life Your Way, our program which focuses on supporting people with a disability to live the life they choose," Ms Quin said.
"Our MC for the evening will be Australian stand-up comedian and writer Claire Hooper, and there will also be music from popular party band the Enormous Horns and our very own Sylvanbeats."
The evening includes a three-course meal, drinks, entertainment and dancing, an art exhibition, silent and live auctions and a photo booth.
"As well as being an action-packed evening of fabulous food, dancing and fun, this is a fantastic opportunity for individuals and corporates to raise funds for people with intellectual and other disabilities," Ms Quinn said.
"And to develop and strengthen their relationship with Sylvanvale and the 300-plus other people who will be attending the event."
The Sylvanvale Foundation was formed in 1947, and now provides support to more than 600 children and adults.
"We provide a wide range of services and programs including group and independent living, work ready and life skills, children and youth, health and wellbeing, respite, as well as social enterprises such as Sylvanvale Catering, Achieve Cafe and our Retail Therapy op shop," Ms Quinn said.
