EDUCATION Week (July 27-31) was launched at The Jannali High School this month.
The celebration of public education is an annual event hosted by the NSW Department of Education.
This year’s theme ‘‘Celebrating local heroes’’ acknowledges the important role parents, carers, grandparents and community members play in supporting teachers and staff.
Students hit the stage on Monday to display their talents in dance performances, with the state Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Company and the NSW Public Schools Events Dance Team.
Acting Minister for Education Leslie Williams was at the school to launch the event and NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione spoke to students.
