Sharks' woes
I write in response to the Peter Lamond letter "Hopes dashed again" (Your View, July 14).
The writer complains of being a "long suffering St George fan". I think he needs to get a life as from what I can remember St George once again won the grand final only five years ago.
I've been a Sharks fan since their entry into the NRL 48 years ago and they haven't won a grand final. I suggest Sharks fans like myself would be better described as a "long suffering fan".
I note the writer's reference to the North Sydney Bears and suggest that St George like North Sydney employ security guards to patrol the fences around Jubilee Oval.
This was not intended to keep out fans who did not want to pay, but was intended to keep fans in who wanted to leave the ground before the end of the game if their team was losing.
