UNI students Nathan Tarlinton and Sally Reynolds have taken out the top gong for their unmanned aircraft invention in the University of Wollongong's Innovation Works! competition.
The pair developed a flexible and cost-effective aerial system to search for missing people while saving time and resources, and it was judged the best entry last Thursday.
Finalists were chosen to undertake a 10-week program to turn their dream into reality with expert assistance to design and build their new product concept.
Mr Tarlinton and Ms Reynolds scored $500 each for the win in what is the competition's second year.
