WOOLOOWARE shopping village has stolen the lead from its larger shire rivals in the spring sales stakes.
Spring is the time that many shopping centres celebrate with special promotions and this year for the first time all the participating Woolooware retailers are opening up their businesses on Saturday, September 5, for a spring sale.
Woolooware shopping village on Wills Road is a small collection of 15 unique businesses.
Along with the long-serving "Alberts" corner store, Wills Road has a hairdresser, bottle shop, cake shops, cafe, gift shop, flower shop, takeaway food, chemist, doctor, physiotherapist and post office.
"There's something for everyone," one Wills Road businessowner said. "It may only be two kilometres from the complexity of the Cronulla strip but with its ample parking and friendly, intimate atmosphere it is a secret worth finding."
Woolooware's Spring Sale is being held a week before the very successful Cronulla Spring Fair.
But it isn't trying to outdo its big brother.
The retailers of Woolooware are just telling the community they are there with in-store specials, discounts and street and shop promotions.
The Woolooware shopping village wants to meet the needs of the changing local community with the new Greenhills Beach and the developing Shearwater Landing estate bringing more people into the area.
