St George Illawarra Dragons have agreed to release both Eto Nabuli and Rory O’Brien from the final year of their current respective playing contracts at the end of the 2015 playing season.
Both players made their respective first-grade debuts for the club in the opening round of the 2015 season against the Melbourne Storm, with Nabuli making a total of 11 appearances and O’Brien three to date.
Fijian-born winger Nabuli, 27, has been linked with Super Rugby club Queensland Reds, and prop or second-rower O’Brien, 26, has signed with Parramatta for 2016.
The Queensland Reds are expected to announce soon they have signed Nabuli.
O’Brien is a Hurstville United junior.
“Both Eto and Rory have received opportunities elsewhere commencing next season,” said Dragons coach Paul McGregor.
“Everyone at the Dragons wishes them both all the very best for their respective futures and thank them for their services to our club.’’
