RORY Burns, the cricketer who collided with best mate Moises Henriques, playing at English country team Surrey, will now join him at St George District Cricket Club this season.
The Leader can reveal Englishman Burns' signing was finalised in recent days.
The 2015-16 Sydney Cricket Association season starts Saturday, September 26.
Burns will join Saints for round three in October.
Both Burns and NSW all-rounder Henriques were taken by ambulance to hospital as a result of a horrible on-field accident, in a T20 game against Somerset on Sunday, June 14, at Arundel, England.
As reported in the Leader on June 16, Burns and Henriques crashed into one another attempting a catch during play. The match was abandoned.
Henriques, the St George star batsman and bowler, sustained a broken jaw in three places and smashed teeth while Burns suffered facial injuries.
Burns, 24, is a left-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, but also bowls occasionally.
He has healed from his injuries and has since returned playing with Surrey.
"Rory and Moses are great mates and it's a great coup for the club," St George District Cricket Club president Kevin Greene said.
"He is a very good batsman and keeper and Rory will bat in the top order."
Henriques, 28, returned to training with the NSW Sheffield Squad earlier this month.
Saints have bolstered their bowling stocks in 2015-16 with the signings of Randwick-Petersham duo Nathan Ellis and Nicholas Stapleton.
Sutherland second grade keeper Jonathan Rose has also come across the bridge from the shire to join and Sydney Uni leg-spinner Darius Visser another recruit.
St George first grade opener Stewart McCabe and former Tasmanian batsman Steve Cazzulino, will combine their playing skills joining the coaching staff to assist head coach Peter Jackson.
