KOGARAH Community Grants recipients were presented with cheques by Kogarah mayor Michael Platt at a civic reception on August 18.
A total of $50,090 was shared among 23 not-for-profit community organisations.
The money will be used to help fund specific community projects in the coming year.
Cr Platt said the council's objective was to help organisations turn great ideas into reality and in the process "provide our community with an opportunity to be part of a group, to come along to an event, or to participate in a program which they otherwise may not have access to".
He said the projects funded were broad, reflecting the diversity of the Kogarah community.
