Leoin Tran, of Yowie Bay, has a passion for fishing.
He also has a genuine enthusiasm for business.
Off his own volition the 17-year-old established a Teen Fishing Club. He's combined his love of fishing and developing a business model with it.
The group has held several meetings at the Yowie Bay wharf this year and many more are planned in the warmer months.
Their next gathering is on Saturday, October 3, from 3pm until 7pm.
The venue will be announced soon on the Teen Fishing Club Facebook page.
Leoin said founding the Teen Fishing Club is something he is proud of.
The idea was in his mind for a while.
And with spring almost here, a lot of trawlers are about to take to the rivers, estuaries and fishing spots in the Sutherland Shire and St George district, to try to get the catch of the day if they can.
But Leoin made it clear it's also about developing ideas, making friends and learning from one another.
"Teen Fishing all started when I got an idea to run my own business. Fishing is one of my favorite hobbies.
"I started thinking of ways that could help people in my peer group, how we could have fun and also start a business club that is run by another teenager that likes fishing."
Leoin said he wants to work with his peers for them to teach and learn from each other.
He has encouraged motivational speakers address the Teen Fishing School members.
"It's about making decisions to set up their life.
"Our motto is friendship, inspiration, laughter.
"I want to help inspire many youth, so that they can inspire other youth and also teach others."
Watson's final Test?
Has Sutherland, NSW and Australian all-rounder Shane Watson played his final Test?
Dropped after the opening Test in Cardiff in the five-match Ashes series, won 3-2 by England, Watson's only time batting or bowling in the middle away from the nets has been in some tour games.
With Chris Rogers and Michael Clarke retired and a string of other Test careers in limbo, perhaps the Twenty20 and one-day limited overs games against England could actually be the place for the big-hitting batsman to resurrect his career.
The Test series starts when Australia head to Bangladesh in October then host New Zealand and the West Indies this summer, and one thing the selectors won't want is too many experienced players departing at the one time.
The opening role, where Watson is best suited, is up for grabs with Rogers pulling up stumps on his Test career. Watson averages 35.19 with the bat from 59 Tests.
He averages above 40 as an opener — scoring 2049 runs of his 3731 runs.
