A man has been refused bail after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend in a vicious assault, threatened to kill her, then told her the injuries were her fault.
Parramatta Bail Court heard Mustafa Dagdanasar, 34, went against an Apprehended Violence Order when he allegedly punched and bit his former girlfriend, leaving her with injuries that were still visible days later, in a home at Caringbah last Friday.
It is alleged Mr Dagdanasar, from Caringbah, punched the woman in the face with a closed fist three times, pushed her, and bit her on the forehead, leaving an imprint of his teeth.
"He then, somewhat bizarrely, said, 'You made me do this to you'," Magistrate Christopher McRobert said, quoting from the allegations in the police fact sheet.
The court heard the woman didn't go to police about the alleged attack, which is claimed to have happened on the evening of August 20, because she said Mr Dagdanasar threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
But three days later, the woman's aunt says she visited her, saw her injuries and called police immediately.
On Friday night, police officers arrested Mr Dagdanasar in Darlinghurst after a short chase on foot.
In refusing bail, Mr McRobert said Mr Dagdanasar and had an "extensive record of violence", including convictions for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an unauthorised pistol, and a prison sentence for contravening an apprehended domestic violence order.
As the magistrate was reading his decision, Mr Dagdanasar claimed his former girlfriend's injuries were self-inflicted, from hitting herself with bowls and plates.
"How would you explain the fact she has your teeth marks on her?" Mr McRobert asked.
"Bail is refused."
Mr Dagdanasar will appear at Sutherland Local Court on September 2.
