Organisers of Expo 2015: An Exhibition of Ship Models couldn’t have wished for a better weekend.
The weather was good and the venue was right — Georges River 16ft Sailing Club at Sandringham.
The two-day event was organised by Sydney Model Shipbuilders Club.
Spokesman Janos Nemeth said it was the best they’d had so far, almost doubling last year’s show at South Sydney Juniors at Kingsford.
Mr Nemeth said more than 400 people came to see the 100 or so model ships representing three clubs — and about half of the attendees said they had heard about the event in the Leader.
