SEVERAL Hire A Hubby franchisees or "hubbies" armed with tools and materials have given a facelift to Bankstown PCYC.
The "hubbies" included Simon Wilson from Menai, Jeff and Leeanne Selar from Brighton-Le-Sands and Robert Watson from Gymea.
The team built five wooden bench and seat combinations for outdoors.
The upgrade will mean families and their children can gather outdoors for meals.
Alistair Foggo from Bankstown PCYC said the organisation had been an integral part of the community for 50 years.
"We have been in desperate need of some outdoor upgrades," Mr Foggo said.
"The Hubbies were able to transform the space in a matter of hours."
Mr Wilson said when he heard Bankstown PCYC needed assistance he jumped at the opportunity to give back to the community.
"It was also great to team up with Hubbies from nearby areas and put our carpentry skills to use for a truly worthwhile cause," he said.
Hire A Hubby started in Melbourne in 1997 as a single person operation and the first franchise started a year after the business started.
Hire A Hubby now has nearly 300 franchisees in Australia, 70 in New Zealand and 20 in Britain.
