Previously unseen footage of Angelina Jolie in acting class has surfaced on the Internet.
The video, which was obtained and published by the Daily Mail, shows the then 25-year-old actress in a class with a man and another woman.
The group are playing out a highly emotional scene.
"I wish I had one real thing in my life, too, but I don't," Jolie tells the woman with a maniacal smile. "And I'm fine, aren't I?"
Another section of the scene shows Jolie yelling: "I need to hurt you, I want to hurt you."
In a 2001 interview with Rolling Stone, Jolie explained that she decided to act professionally at 16 after dropping out of school.
After a series of unsuccessful auditions in which she was told she was "too dark", Jolie's first professional role came aged 17, in the straight-to-VHS Cyborg 3, released in 1993.
Jolie told Rolling Stone she was so embarrassed by the final product that she didn't audition again for another year, opting instead to study embalming with the hope of becoming a funeral director.
"It was one of those by-mail courses to learn how to be a funeral director," she said at the time.
It wasn't until 1997 that Jolie received her professional breakthrough in George Wallace, a performance which earned her a Golden Globe.
In 1998, after the release of her film Gia, Jolie gave up acting again, separating from her then husband Jonny Lee Miller and moving to New York where she took classes in directing and screenwriting at New York University.
Jolie resumed her career, winning an Oscar for her performance in the 2000 film Girl, Interrupted, before finding blockbuster success the next year as Lara Croft, the action heroine at the centre of the Tomb Raider franchise.
