Cronulla Sharks Andrew Fifita and Ben Barba are expected to be included in the Sharks 17-man squad for this Sunday’s elimination final against Souths at Allianz Stadium.
Cronulla Sharks coach Shane Flanagan, has named a 20-man squad but only 17 can play.
Props Matt Prior, Tinirau Arona and David Fifita are expected to miss out.
Match kick-off this Sunday against Souths is 4.10pm.
Under NRL rules, teams have until one hour before kick-off top finalise their 17 man playing roster for the game.
Andrew and David Fifita return from suspension in time for the finals.
The pair were suspended for six weeks by the NRL and banned for 12 months by the Penrith District Junior Rugby League for abusing a referee in July.
Andrew Fifta was also fined $30,000 for abusing the referee. And also must do 25 hours service for junior league,
Flanagan said the Sharks are wary of Souths.
‘‘We are treating them with respect as they are the defending premiers,’’ Flanagan said.
After 26 premiership rounds, the Sharks finished sixth and the Bunnies, seventh, who have been hit hard by injury and suspension. The loser on Sunday bows out of the premiership.
The Sharks are a tough, experienced team but also have a stack of young emerging talent including Valentine Holmes and Jack Bird.
Missing for the Bunnies are supsended prop George Burgess and hooker Isaac Luke and back-rower John Sutton (broken leg) out for the season.
Champion fullback Greg Inglis is back from a two week absence (knee surgery).
In 83 matches between the Sharks and Souths since 1967; the Sharks hold a 43-37 advantage with three drawn.
At Allianz Stadium the Sharks have won nine of the 12 clashes there and Souths have won three.
