COOKING, cleaning and washing.
By the time we get through all of those, the weekend is gone and the odd jobs that don't need to be done daily or even weekly can tend to slip through the cracks.
So why not make this weekend the time when you attack all those forgotten tasks that can make life so much more comfortable.
The first place to look is in the bedrooms. How long is it since you changed the pillows?
After six months, 10 per cent of your pillow is made up of dust mites and perspiration. So it's definitely time to toss it out.
Look for pillows that contain natural materials, such as down, wool, organic cotton or natural latex.
Those invisible little nasties also build up in the doona, so now is a good time to wash it and, while it's on the clothes line, turn the mattress and spin it top to toe.
Now that the weather is warming up, it's a good idea to air out the house.
While you're at it, wash the windows inside and out, then get rid of any smells the natural way with a bowl of baking soda in each room.
The baking soda will absorb and neutralise any smells.
Finally, keep the house fresh with some indoor plants.
House plants can help to improve air quality as they absorb toxins, including volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde and benzene.
