EIGHT students in St George and Sutherland Shire have been recognised for outstanding educational achievements in their school communities.
The group was among 48 exceptional Catholic school year 12 students honoured at the annual Archbishop of Sydney awards on September 4 at St Mary's Cathedral.
Students got a certificate and medallion recognising contributions to school life, leadership, academic, sport, social justice, parish, faith and community service.
Aquinas College Menai student Stephanie Branley is a key member of her school's social justice team.
She also plays a significant role in school liturgies as a reader and altar server and was nominated as an ambassador to next year's World Youth Day in Krakow.
Bethany College Hurstville's Eugenia Simoes is the president of her school's Vinnies Conference.
De La Salle Cronulla's Victoria-Rose Taylor is an active member of the St Aloysius Parish Cronulla. She sings in the choir and supports elderly and ill parishioners.
Edward Noack, of St John Bosco College Engadine, has done community service, including donating blood and supporting aged-care residents at St John Paul Village at Heathcote.
He was chosen for work with disadvantaged and homeless kids in Cambodia.
