To take away someone's cherished prize is not the same as to "crucify" the person, Glenn Williams (Your View, September 22).
I expect all Christians, including that devout Catholic Tony Abbott, would be offended by the comparison of his deposing to the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth.
Mr Abbott, basically a pretty decent human being I suspect, was widely regarded as an unsatisfactory prime minister, and so was replaced.
Surely we all want the prime minister to be the best leader the majority party can provide.
That's more important than someone's hurt feelings when his lolly is taken away. To act on that principle isn't crucifixion.
