A rock fisherman has died after he was washed into the water at Wattamolla on Saturday.
Emergency services were called at 5pm after reports the Chinese National, 63, was fishing with his son-in-law from rocks when he slipped and fell into the water.
He was not wearing a life jacket.
Marine police searched the water with the Ambulance helicopter and Westpac Lifesaver helicopter.
Paramedics were winched onto a police boat to help with CPR but the man couldn’t be revived.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
NSW Police have reminded rock anglers to always wear a life jacket, check weather conditions before they leave, carry safety gear and if in doubt don’t go out.
