Burlesque show
ON STAGE: Burlesque artists from interstate have joined performers from this area to produce a show that will explore all types of burlesque, tickle the "humorous bone" and feature a classic bump and grind move and belly dance. There is even an appearance by Ned Kelly. Producer and creator of the Show Pony Burlesque show, Memphis Mae, expects to transform the Brass Monkey into a brazen burlesque boudoir for the show. A night with Bette
CONCERT: Singer and entertainer Catherine Alcorn has been presenting her show The Divine Miss Bette to national and international audiences and now she is coming to Sutherland. The tribute to Bette Midler sees Alcorn and her Harlettes joined by a five-piece band to perform Midler's early classics, including Stay With Me Baby, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and In The Mood. There are Midler-esque asides, raucous choreography and Midler-like humour. The show is at Sutherland Entertainment Centre on October 17 at 8pm, with cabaret dining from 7pm. LIVE GIG: Vocalist and drummer Glen Mead began his musical career in Australia before combining his love of travelling, music and surfing. He has also written his own songs and will appear at Club on East, 7 East Parade, Sutherland, at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 17. Details: 9521 4700.
Music on the deck
LIVE MUSIC: Coalcliff Surf Life Saving Club has live music on the clubhouse deck the first and third Sunday of each month, 2pm-5pm, until June next year. Children under 16 are free. Adults $10-$20.
