REECE Craigie said playing for the Australian men's Indigenous All Stars team that recently won the 2015 Mackay Pride Trans Tasman Series, meant the world to him.
The All Stars team defeated the New Zealand Maori team, 2-1, in the three-match series.
Craigie is originally from Tamworth and his Indigenous heritage is from the Kamilaroi people.
The Sutherland Sharks shooting guard was outstanding in the series.
Craigie finished the series with personal stats of 24 points, nine boards, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot.
"It's been a great season for me, winning the title with the Sutherland Sharks, making the All Stars top five team and now playing for the Australian Indigenous All Stars team," Craigie said.
Australia dropped the first game 93-82 then won game two, 107-99, and the third game, 93-89.
The Sutherland Sharks men's state league team won the 2015 grand final in August.
He said it was special winning on their home court at Sutherland Basketball Stadium defeating Wagga Wagga Heat, 91-63 .
"Sutherland is a great club with great people," Craigie said.
Craigie's basketball has taken to different parts of Australia and overseas.
"I did year 11 and 12 in Los Angeles," he said.
"And in 2011 I was a development player for the Cairns Taipans in the NBL."
Craigie played with the Wests Tamworth Thunderbolts where the 190-centimetre athlete's skills were noticed.
